Behavioral Management Program

Behavioral ManagementBehavioral issues that may accompany an acquired brain injury can inhibit an individual's ability to benefit from conventional rehabilitation practices.  Acadiana Brain Injury Center specializes in neurobehavioral rehabilitation, providing a highly structured treatment setting that offers a predictable and safe environment for individuals to experience success.

Consistent and meaningful activities are incorporated into the daily schedule and treatment efforts are geared toward enhancing personal responsibilities for actions.

Compensatory strategies are taught to help participants cope with confusion, frustration, anger and aggression.  Through the use of individual behavior plans, participants are able to learn appropriate alternative behaviors and improve their social skills.  All behavioral programs are coordinated with the other rehabilitation disciplines providing services to ensure maximum improvement in all areas.

The participant will learn effective ways of interacting with their families, friends and community.

Family Support and Education

The goal of Acadiana Brain Injury Center is to incorporate an individual's family as much as possible into the treatment process.  A family support and education system is established throughout the intake, rehabilitation and discharge of the people we serve.
